The future builds on the past. Pluto’s first brief ingress into Aquarius in 2023 (3/24-6/11/23) arrives at a time when our trust in institutions meant to serve us, government meant to protect us, are at an all-time low. Since 2008, when Pluto entered Capricorn, we’ve been forced to look at the underbelly of entrenched habits and patterns that have formed the foundation of our society, culture, and democracy.
In Capricorn, the war in Ukraine began with a lie, a pretext to justify invasion. The MeToo movement and Black Lives Matter, uncovered and exposed what many of us knew and experienced but Pluto brought into high focus. This is partly Pluto’s purpose, to reveal what lurks in the dark and bring it into greater collective awareness. I like to think of Pluto as muckraking.
