Nikki Haley is the first female and former Governor of South Carolina and first Indian American to serve in a Presidential cabinet as former Ambassador to the UN. Currently she is a Republican presidential candidate for President of the United States in 2024. She’s performed very well in the four televised Presidential debates and held her own against the boys on the stage. She speaks clearly, precisely, firmly and seems to honestly address the key issues of the day. She presents herself as rational and practical in discussing issues such as abortion.
Haley said Hillary Clinton inspired her to run for office. She said: “The reason I actually ran for office is because of Hillary Clinton... She said that when it comes to women running for office, there will be everybody that tells you why you shouldn't, but that's all the reasons why we need you to do it, and I walked out of there thinking, 'That's it. I'm running for office.'”
