Check the Notes Tab on my page for occasional short pieces. Here’s one, somewhat of a rant – I’m adding astrological patterns at the end to further elucidate my point.
Hello all! Re: The latest Trump indictment - Today I toggle between anger and despair (and many other emotions as well). I’m reflecting on how we (as a country) got here. My anger arises from the fact that this traitor is still walking free. Despair that our country was willing, yes willing, to be seduced by a lifelong con man (his record is common knowledge) all the way to elect him as President of the United States! OMG! Are we, as a country so enamored of celebrity that we were excited by the show a bombastic bully media star would offer as President of the USA? Is that all we want, America - entertainment? That is so very depressing. When we go to the polls in a Presidential election - we are electing the Leader of the Free World. And what did we do America? We elected (well not me and probably not you, but who?) a completely incompetent bully buffoon carnival barker. Because of that, we are now reaping chaos. Maybe, just maybe this is a huge wake-up call and we can preserve our democracy. But wow, it really hurts.
To illustrate my point regarding the seeming excessive adulation of celebrity in US culture, we must consider its natal placement of Mars/Gemini square Neptune/Virgo. I call this aspect the Achilles Heel of the United States because despite being compassionate, responsive and helpful, it also means that what we focus on can be misguided. Squares are challenging aspects, meant to build character through obstacles. In our culture, we are often beguiled by shiny objects and our pursuits, our actions, become seduced and entangled. This is because we lose our way, beginning under one set of principles then shifting to another midway. Sometimes, that simply means being flexible and changing course due to new information available (Mars/Gemini). All this to say that Neptune is a tricky planet. It plays to our weaknesses deluding us and then bringing dissipation or disappointment. Neptune governs belief systems, our spiritual strength and faith – and these too become entwined and difficult to untangle. Neptune rules film, music, the arts and in Virgo, the US certainly has developed skills around Hollywood, entertainment, and music. Alternately, we have, from time to time, as a country, allowed ourselves to get mired in complex and confusing situations. This square has been actively stimulated for the past at least eight years by Jupiter, Saturn and strongly by Neptune/Pisces and simultaneously along with the US Pluto/Capricorn return (which only happens once in 248 yrs.) and describes coming to terms with the unpleasant shadow issues of our country.
Soon, I will be writing a piece about the 2023 Solar Return for the USA which will be a subscriber only piece. I hope you will support my work with a paid subscription. There’s a free trial option that will allow you to access current paid pieces and the archives of previous articles.
