It’s easier than ever to star-gaze as weather warms up in the Northern Hemisphere.
On Saturday 6/3/23, the Full Strawberry Moon is exact 11:42PM EDT – 13 Sagittarius.
Venus shines bright in the West after sunset. On 6/4/23 Venus is at its greatest elongation (distance from the Sun) and so won’t set until about 3hrs. after the Sun.
Go Out! Look Up! Mars is to the upper left of Venus, but Venus shines brightest!
Look straight up for Arcturus, a red-giant and the 4th brightest star. It’s more than 25 times the diameter of the Sun. It’s about 60 to 70 degrees above the horizon. Arcturus is one of the four "royal stars" in ancient Persia. Arcturus was believed to bring protection, guidance, and balance.
Watch Venus and Mars move closer together all month. They are closest on 6/30/23.
