Jupiter has entered the building (as of 6/9/25). That is…Cancer, the sign of home and all that home implies – mother, roots, connection, women, nurturing, acceptance, caring and more. Being the largest planet in our Solar System, Jupiter lives up to its size by bringing big, splashy, often excessive but also optimistic energy to our lives, opportunities to expand, learn, grow, thrive with an added dose of generous blessings too.
Jupiter rules the sign Sagittarius (and Pisces in traditional rulership). In watery Cancer, Jupiter is said to be exalted. It operates better in Moon-ruled Cancer because expansion, abundance and blessings in the sign of home, family, community, commerce is generally a good thing. Of course, all planets and signs have a shadow side and are modified by connections to other planets at any given time, both in the sky and in your chart. Some key Jupiter negatives include: pushing the envelope, excessiveness, extravagance, lack of judgment, laziness, overstepping boundaries, self-righteousness, bombast, opportunism, squandering, exaggeration, lying and avoiding.
2025 is a pivotal year with many planets changing signs (Saturn, Neptune, Uranus) and Jupiter among them. Jupiter’s cycle spans 12 years, visiting in each sign for one year. This time it remains in Cancer until 7/1/26. Think of the events that happened in your life 12 years ago, the last time Jupiter transited Cancer.
Jupiter typically magnifies or enlarges issues and situations. In Cancer those issues pertain to home, hearth, family, cash-flow, comfort, acceptance, community, nurturing, commodities, basic goods and the issues of women and the emotions of people in general. Cancer is tribal in nature and understands the importance of community and protection and safety for those in one’s personal community and expanding outward into the community of country and humanity.
Jupiter makes a square to Saturn new in Aries (supply/demand, have/have-not), on 6/15/25, questioning restrictions, the same day that Mars/Leo squares #Uranus/Taurus (excitement, unexpected, erratic, disruptive activity). Coincidentally, of course you know, 6/14/25 is the President’s birthday and he has a ginormous, expensive (around 45 million plus) military style parade planned – the likes of which we usually reserve for celebrations ending a war. That’s a lot of money that could have been used in much better ways. The aspects on that day are both concerning and potentially volatile given the circumstances. There are thousands of protests organized all over the country. The No Kings rallies. Both of these events should absorb much of the aforementioned energies, but we have to expect the unexpected because tensions are high not just in the US but around the world.
Jupiter squares Neptune/Aries on 6/18/25 bringing a very different tone, often a big disappointment, disillusionment, illusion, deception, something unbelievable that tests our faith. Jupiter/Cancer trines Saturn/Pisces when Saturn slips back into Pisces. Each make a Station at 25 degrees in November 2025. November should bring some reiteration or repeat of similar events that exist at the current square between these two planets of the economy and the tension between expansion and contraction, stagnation or progress.
The chart for Jupiter’s entry into Cancer is complex. Notice first that 7 of the 10 planets are in early degrees of signs 0-3. That means they are all connected with each other and forming an intricate interlocking energy pattern. The chart expresses turmoil, outrage, confusion even sadness at out of bounds and extreme measures and policies in evidence in current times.
Since it’s Jupiter’s return chart Let’s start there with Jupiter situated in House 8 and conjunct Mercury/Cancer. House 8 is the place of power, empowerment, investments, banking, money, sex, resources, politics and transformation (all the good stuff, right?) Jupiter rules House 2 (Sadge on the cusp) connecting the money house axis together. The economy and its effect on the community of consumers is front and center. It also rules House 5 (traditional ruler of Pisces) creativity, children, life-style choices, fun and individual expression.
Jupiter typically includes some form of excess, overdoing, extravagance, a broadening of understanding or, all of the above. And, Jupiter rules the court system, judges and wise judgment, when applied with careful attention. Jupiter is the focal point of a YOD *, and so is the Moon ruling Jupiter/Cancer! These interlocking yods formations bring further emphasis on engagement with money and power.
Scorpio rising sets the agenda for expressing power, and influence and it shows pressure. Mars, traditional ruler of Scorpio is rapidly approaching a square to Uranus, exact on 6/15/25. Tension is mounting since this is an explosive aspect. Mars is the highest planet in the chart in H10 – the house of the head of state and the government. It’s square to Uranus indicates unprecedented or shocking activity.
The Sun in Gemini squares the Nodal axis – the Sun too refers to the leader and we are witnessing the leader’s forceful actions against migrants, undocumented people as well as judges and members of Congress.
Pluto, modern ruler of the Scorpio Ascendant resides in H3, communications systems, collaborators and media. It squares the Ascendant and is part of the Yod that includes Mercury conjunct Jupiter in Cancer and the Moon in Sadge. People are responding to a show of force and the policy and procedures of those in power. Pressure and tensions are high. An unpredictability and uncertainty exists with a host of planets in new signs. It takes time to effectively integrate these new energies and manage them in the best ways we can. In the meantime, there’s instability, impulsiveness and a good bit of anxiety. Stability comes from adhering to and standing up for tried and true values of kindness, compassion and caring for each other, one human being to another.

* YOD - elongated triangle consisting of a base of two planets 60 deg. apart with a third (or more) planet(s) at the far midpoint of the 60deg. base. This planet makes a 150 deg. angle to each of the two planets at the base. It indicates an unusual or creative application of the energies of the base. Sometimes stressful but always requiring adaptation. The far midpoint planet shows the directional application of the energy.
